gravery - the story of a metal tongue twister

06/05/2026

The band GRAVERY belongs among those formations that follow their own path without any need to adapt to trends or the expectations of the scene. Their music stands on a combination of different metal subgenres, fused into a raw, dark, and aggressive sound.

They describe their work as a mix of raw energy and influences that together create a "darkened, oppressive and violent sound." Despite the intensity of their music, the band emphasizes freedom above all else. For them, music is not about chasing trends, gaining followers, or playing for algorithms, but about authenticity and natural evolution.

Although the members admit they belong to an older generation of musicians, they draw inspiration mainly from modern bands. They believe it is important to live in the present and remain open to new sounds. Experimentation has been a natural part of their approach since 1998, when they started blending different subgenres long before it became a common trend.

Their creative process is built around digital work. Each member develops ideas individually before they are later merged into the final form of a song. Interestingly, they often do not perform new tracks live until they begin rehearsing for a full album or a tour.

On stage, however, everything comes fully alive. Playing live means above all traveling, discovering new places and cultures, and building new friendships. They described their performance at Rising Tides Festival in Tilburg on May 2, 2026, as their most intense concert experience so far.

The band is currently preparing a new EP set for release on May 15. When asked about details, however, they respond with their typical humor and laid-back attitude — no unnecessary teasers or grand statements.

GRAVERY see their future simply: to stay on the road. The size of the stage or festival does not matter. What matters is movement, new experiences, and music that remains faithful to their own vision.
