Between great beer with friends and punk

Some bands are born out of ambition, others out of boredom and a few drinks. Last Tale sit somewhere exactly in between. The Košice four-piece — Michal Barančik, Igor Žovtik, Eduard Koval, and Patrik Perháč — started quietly: with cover songs, rehearsal sessions without big expectations, and more of a friendly kind of chaos than any real vision of big stages. The turning point came when they realized that playing other people's stories simply wasn't enough.

Since 2023, the band has fully committed to original music and started building a sound that is not based on technical sterility, but on raw energy and authenticity. Their music blends rock and punk drive with influences from bands like Blink-182, Billy Talent, and The Rolling Stones, while still keeping a close connection to Slovak listeners thanks to lyrics in their native language.

Their songwriting process feels natural — someone brings a riff or a lyrical idea, the others break it down, reshape it, and let it evolve. The final result has to work for everyone, even if that sometimes means voting or endlessly rewriting songs. In this lineup, everyone has space, but everything is still guided by a shared energy.

The band openly admits that the reality of being a musician quickly taught them discipline. Behind concerts is not only fun, but also organization, planning, meetings, and building a name. Despite that, they've kept their sense of humor and their philosophy that a concert should be, above all, an experience — a place where you scream the chorus, drink a beer, and forget the world for a while.

When asked what keeps them together as such a tight group of "young lads," they answered:
"Beer. And then loyalty, music, and the fact that we are a family we chose ourselves." — Last Tale

One of their biggest milestones so far was the release show of their debut album Posledný príbeh at Collosseum in Košice, which confirmed for them that their music truly resonates. Their biggest reward is not just applause, but moments when the audience sings their lyrics back to them.

The band is currently working on new material and hints that fans can expect a continuation of the story surrounding the track "Vesna." Where their sound will go next is still open. One thing is certain, however — they do not want to be a polished band for everyone. They want to make music honestly, loudly, and without pretending. Exactly the way they live.
