AS THEY RISE: INSIDE THE NOISE, WHERE DJENTCORE ENERGY IS BORN

09/05/2026

Bands do not always come together because of a plan. Sometimes, people simply find each other because they carry the same unrest within themselves. And it is exactly where energy, pressure, and the need to say something collide that music is born — music that has no time to wait. As They Rise are exactly that kind of band. Their foundation began to take shape in Nitra, but the members come from several different cities — Trnava, Piešťany, and Nitra itself. This diversity naturally found its way into their music as well, which is not built around a single direction, but rather on the clash of multiple perspectives and musical worlds.

The lineup consists of Mišo on vocals, Fredo on rhythm guitar and backing vocals, Peťo on lead guitar, Roman on bass, and Maťo on drums. Together, they create a sound balanced on the edge of djent and the core scene — precise, heavy, yet filled with an energy that feels natural rather than calculated.

Their music cannot be perceived as mere technique. It is more of a reaction. A reaction to chaos, pressure, and inner tension. As They Rise do not see music as an escape, but as a confrontation. As a space where energy transforms into movement and chaos into freedom.

Their inspirations reach toward modern metal bands, but their influences run deeper — from legendary names to the contemporary scene. Among their favorite bands are Born of Osiris, Knocked Loose, and Slipknot. Each of them helped shape their perspective on what heaviness, energy, and emotion can sound like.

At the same time, they say that today they are influenced the most by the modern scene. Not in a nostalgic way, but directly — in the way they create, compose, and think about sound.

What is also interesting is that their music does not emerge from spontaneous jam sessions in the rehearsal room. Their songs are created thoughtfully — often beginning in a home environment, where the basic structure is formed and gradually developed further. Each member brings their own perspective into the process until the initial idea evolves into a complete composition.

Only then comes the rehearsal room.

Only then comes the live world.

"Our music is like awakening from lethargy," they say. "It's the moment when a person realizes what is happening around them as well as within themselves. It carries unrest, pressure, and the need to change something." "The best feeling is playing music you created yourself and seeing how people react to it," they add.

The band admits, however, that despite releasing their EP Echoes, they are still searching for their definitive sound. It is not a weakness — rather a natural evolution. Every new song pushes them closer to what they truly want to become.

At the moment, they are working on new material that is meant to be sharper, heavier, and more defined. One of the songs that already represents them the most is "Silhouette."

At the same time, they say that their best music is still yet to come.

Everything changes in a live setting.

Music stops being a studio project and becomes a space where energy collides. For As They Rise, concerts are the moment when everything is released — emotions, pressure, and tension that build up throughout the creative process.

Among their most memorable shows are performances at Žalár and hometown gigs in Nitra, such as those at Mariatchi. Every concert carries a different atmosphere, but the common element always remains the same — the energy shared between the band and the audience.

The band's future is heading beyond Slovakia.

Alongside working on a new album, they are also preparing for a mini-tour across the Balkans — Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Romania. One of the highlights will be Metal Discharge Festival, where they will perform in front of a completely new audience.

It is a step that pushes them beyond their local scene — and at the same time a test of how their music resonates outside their borders.

As They Rise do not want to stand still.

They do not want to be a band defined by a single moment, but a band defined by movement.

And perhaps that is exactly why their name does not speak only about music, but also about themselves — about something that is constantly rising.
